    Hello,
One thing to consider before thinking about SEO is to make sure that any and all errors are fixed on your site. Sometimes this is not an easy task if you use web design software. I've fixed all errors on a page before only to load it in Contribute or Dreamweaver and had to fix the errors again.

The best way to learn about this stuff is to test out your own sites by typing in your domain name and running some tests. A good place to start is here:

    http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

    http://bobby.watchfire.com/bobby/html/en/index.jsp

    http://www.anybrowser.org/campaign/abdesign.shtml

    Hope this helps,
    Chris

    Chris,

great point. I recently (a month ago) began running all of our sites (sigh) through the w3.org HTML validators and other validators as well....oh my. All I can say is there has been a noticeable increase in SERP rankings on almost all "major" SE's including of course G. What it can also do is reveal any flaws in links, page layout, etc.

Of course, these are all good things to do when you are building the pages the first time.
