In Indiana we use the Promissor exam. Our exam consist of two, one being general questions, while the second had the state license law. I found the general questions to be relatively straight forward and quite easy if you read the course material. Now the state license law is another beast. Not an easy way to prep for that. What really saved my butt was buying a CD with specific state license law questions. I spend a few hours with the disk and think I would have failed had I not done so.

Truth be told, the Florida exam is very difficult compared to other states. It is one big test and not divided into a State Section and a National Section as in other states. I am also licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and those tests were a cake walk compared to Florida. I passed Florida on the first try, but I was pretty nervous.

I passed the first time...I did nothing but study for a week. My application was approved before I took the RE course. I suggest taking the test as soon as possible after the course. The Florida exam is tricky...it's all about how the question is worded, then there are usually 2 answers that could be correct. You have to choose the one that is most correct!

I passed the first time...said a few prayers along the way and we'll never know how close it may have been, but I can say...I didn't cheat!

Passed the first time and I am a DA so you'll do great! I thought the final exam for the class was much harder than the actual state exam. I am sure you will do fine - relax.

Some are better test taker than others...I was an average student in High School. and took my test 6 years ago at age 23 with some college.. I passed both parts of the test the first time. I took a prep course and for 3-4 days before the exam I took a CD practice test about 30 times to gain as much knowledge as possible. The practice exam contained 100 Questions and I did 10 Questions at a time per catagory till I mastered it... This really Helped!!

Question Re: How many times did it take you to pass the State exam?

Hi everyone I'm a 24 year old banker from California. I took the real estate principles course through Rockwell Institute online about 3 years ago. I have also taken the state exam 2 times now and failed both times my last score was a 58% I know sad huh? I'm extremley passionate about getting into real estate so much that I'm leaving my job to pursue this career. I will be working with a client of mine from the bank who is a broker and an awesome one at that. I have been reading everyone's blogs and taking in all this info people have been sharing. I've read that a lot of you have passed on the first try! Great I wish that was me! the times I did study I had to cram it into a 2 week vacation from work. This time I'm giving myself a month to study then I will schdule my test a month in advance so I will have 2 months to study. I remember reading one blog where a lady says "don't over study" what exactly does that mean, Am I over studing or am I just not meant for real estate? Someone please give me advice!!!!!!
