Very old thread, I know, but I remember seeing it before. Now a client is interested in resources for real estate investing. Do you guys know of any other good ones which have not been mentioned in this thread yet?

I am just not a fan of these "pay for my self-promotional" seminars.
Disclaimer: I have only been to one. It was about the stock market not real estate, but I think the principle is the same. Total waste of time...
My highly non-scientific approach that I recommend to the uninitiated:
1. Read, read, read
2. Mentor (as applicable to the field you choose)
3. Read some more
4. Simulate
5. Put on the swim diapers and step into the shallow end
6. Take your new found mad skills and money, swim out a bit and play with the sharks.
IMHO, taking advice from a self proclaimed guru is no substitute for experience, knowledge, and sound financial sense. If these programs really worked everyone would be doing it (and doing it well).
David,
I am in full agreement with you there. This is why I wanted this thread to continue.
I have yet to find a "paid advice" resource other than seobook which I would recommend people using. The truth is that the best advice in the world is usually free, but you need to look for it. Paying $29.99 a month doesn't turn you into an seo and buying an ebook doesn't make you a high adsense earner.
Same thing goes with real estate investing.
I am currently in Costa Rica, working with realtors, builders and so on.
The problem is that many here have bought land a few years ago which has since tripled in value. Problem is many of the owners don't have the cash to build, which is why you see beautiful beach front properties without any houses or buildings on them.
Some of my friends are looking for investors and are willing to start joint ventures with whoever might be willing to invest.
I'm taking videos and pictures of the properties, publishing proof of ownership.
My question would be is there a resource with info or a place where property owners and investors connect and people know what they're talking about.
I personally can guarantee that the people I work with own the properties and can also testify to the gain of value of properties in Costa Rica, especially in the areas which have great waves for surfing.
So what I need right now is some advice on how to represent best what I want to show to the right people.
Mike
Mike:
Start a new thread and pose your question. Looks like this one started for advice on attending seminars. I'll contemplate your question and pose some ideas on your thread (if you start one).
Thanks, David.
I have actually started one already:

I will recommend the wealth intelligence academy. You don't need a license to invest in real estate. They offer courses in real estate investing from all aspects such as land development, discount notes and mortgages, wholesaling, manufactured housing, and more. You can go to their site wia.com or search for the company name in a search engine.
Hi,
I am going to recommend a good book that motivated me its called "Think and Grow Rich" by the author Napolean Hill. This is an excellent book to motivate you in starting to think about how your going to become rich. You will first need an idea, and then you have to move on that idea (plan) to make it happen. Most people have the ideas but they never follow through on accomplishing their goals.
Good luck and let me know if you enjoyed the book.
Bye
