Heh, well I was looking at two different mediums:

One would be to buy them premade, business card layout (so smaller disk, cut so it's a rectangle sort of), and have our company logo laser printed on the cd.

Another way would be to buy them blank, and light scribe them myself. But if I buy 500 of them or more, that's a lot of work.

Also, I've talked to a few companies. Turns out I can make a flash or some such, or they can (for a fee) and just have that autorun on the cd. So no need to install anything, since it would be a self executable. Could even make a mac version and a pc version, so no matter what the potential buyer uses, it will load up.

Currently, with a laser printed image for us, each mini cd would run around 1.34 per, for around 500+ of them. Soon we are negotiating a property were we will be the only realty association allowed to sell it. We've worked with this developer for awhile, and they used to not trust anyone, and eventually they had to always give us more properties because we sold them out.

We will be hiring people to be the on house people for the condo development, this might be an idea to toss in that office too.

I'm not sure what the goal of creating/distributing this cd are for your firm; so its difficult to say if the idea is going to pay off for you; nor have any of us seen the program you will put on the cd. If your goal is to establish your firm as the technological powerhouse real estate company, these cds could defininitely help. If all you want is to showcase the homes you are selling, I wonder if your time/money would be spent elsewhere.

There's no real way to calculate your ROI on this investment, so for that reason alone, I probably wouldn't make the commitment. How many people are going to buy a home (the ultimate goal of a sales office) because they received a nifty business card cd?

Well, my firm isn't a normal real estate firm, I assure you

The Sales office at the development will be marketing our incentives to prospective home buyers, but here in the office, we will be marketing to investors.

We have only worked with investors, though now we are branching out to 'normal' real estate.

The cd's were more for the investors, since they rarely can go cross country to see the homes.

Like Brandon, I dont work in the normal real estate industry, I deal with international real estate. In our industry cd's, well probably more dvd's are standard. They are handy because we can put a video walk through of any developments we're pitching along with extra data like floor plans etc. Another advantage of using dvd's is that clients dont have to just use a computer, they can throw them into a standard dvd player and view it on the tv. The cd business cards are cool from a gimmick point of view but I would be concerned about them getting scratched going in and out of wallets. Another one I came across is the magic card. It's kind of a puzzle that opens from a few different angles, their website sort of explains it better through visuals at www.nynmarketing.com

And the cd's dvd's come in sleeves, so no scratching

I just checked out their website, and it angered me.

It was a flash, and I watch flashes (though I know many others don't). I kept trying to find somewhere to click to take me to an html page.

Instead.. I had to watch the flash. That's all the website was.

It looks like one of those netflix/blockbuster online envelopes. It might be a good idea, but the flash angered me so!

Yeah I agree about the website but its their product I was referring to. If I was discussing their website, it would probably be in another post "What not to do with a website!" Flash angers me terribly too, and just to really get under your skin, I'll give you another one cause I know you can't stop yourself from having a look! haha www.worldwideprivateresidences.ie

I did in fact follow the link. I saw when it was loading (the non full screen version) international properties.

    I left
