Default Real Estate Agents - may I have your opinions?

    Hi there,

I hope this is the right forum to post this. If not, I apologise.

I'm a copywriter about to step into the real estate arena. So that I can tailor my services to this specialist industry, would you be willing to share your thoughts on what you'd like a copywriter to do for you?

For example: Would you purchase a package of services for each property, such as, newspaper listing, feature listing, website listing and signboard text?

What about a subscription service whereby an amount is paid each month for all copywriting on a specified number of properties?

I would really appreciate your opinions here. All responses gratefully received.

    Cheers,
    Carol

    Hi Thomas,

I write marketing materials, website content, articles - basically, anything business related. I also do proofreading and editing. To date, I've not specialised in any particular industry. My goal now, however, is to service a few select areas, one of which is Real Estate.

From speaking with a local agent here, it's clear that the copywriting needs of Real Estate agents are somewhat different from other areas so, I am looking for as many opinions as possible.

    Cheers,
    Carol

You should offer editing of personal websites, Article/Blog writing. Promotional writing, ect. I think if you have decent prices you could probally find a few customers here on this forum.

Thank you for your replies. So, do you see the need for online copy as being greater than the need for offline? eg: direct mail, signage, newspaper listings, press releases...

    Cheers,

I think online and offline are both equally important.

What copywrite work do you currently work on?

Fee for service would be better than fee per month for most agents. Most agents have a great amount of fluctuation in volume of listings and more seasonal than other industries.

Nu Home Source: I charge $120 AUD per page

Dallas: Til now I've done work for various industries from finance companies to health and wellness to interior furnishings....the list goes on. Am focusing now on a few select industries incl. real est.

Re fee per service instead of subscription: That's interesting. With all the properties that need to be listed, would a separate invoice for each one create more work for you?

    Cheers,
    Carol
