I am working on my site...and my template comes with a flash intro. Do we like or hate flash intros? Personally I hate them usually but hubby thinks they are cool so I need more opinions...

I voted no on the flash intro... but my situation is a little different. I look at hundreds of sites in one day and watching a flash intro takes up time.
It would have to be a pretty flashy(pardon the pun) intro for me to be interested. Also... the music shouldn't sound like infomercial music.

Hate them! Flash if used well can support a website and it's brand, but it should never be the entire main page or entry point of your site.
Not only does it have negative SEO implications (Spiders do not follow links or parse content in flash) but it proves to be challenging for non flash enabled browsers or users. At least with html / css with "some" flash, a user can still access content etc even without a media player installed.
Starting LEC 7 soon but it won't be called LEC 7 - LEC 2012 coming soon!
Of course, if you are a flash developer then it makes sensehttp://www.billybussey.com/intro/ check that puppy out!

Rofl... I want to see that movie. When does it come out?

Like Morgan said if you are a flash designer they are cool, but as for realtors I voted no. I do however love flash banners, slideshows, etc. I just don't really see how watching a little clip before browsing the site is going to help me buy a house.
It goes hand-in-hand with those animated speech guys/girls - they annoy the hell out of me!
Yeah... I can't stand them... though I do like how they look at your mouse as you move it around.
EDIT. Oh yeah.. forgot to say... If the flash intro is quick.. I will probably sit through it.

I vote no here. I don't think intro pages are a good idea as a rule of thumb, and, yes, it is just my opinion. When I do a search for something, I want to go to that page. For me it's that simple. I find them annoying, but, who knows, the next post good say the exact opposite.

You forgot the choice that says:
When I come to an intro page, I hit the back button and keep searching. That's my vote!!!

Some people like the fluid-osity (yey for making up words, since fluidness doesn't sound as cool) that flash provides.
If you want to do flash, make sure to make a 'low-fi' version to, that is just html. If not just for your user's comfort, but also for the spiders' comfort.
If you're not remembered, you never existed.
