    Default Google Analytics question

    I'm using Postlets to create ads for Craigslist. Does anyone know if there's a way to use Google Analytics to track the views of these ads? I was thinking that, even though I can insert the google code, since it's not on my domain, it wouldn't work. If not, is there another way of tracking Craigslist stats for your ads?

    Another Analytics question....it seems to only update once per day - is that the way it's supposed to work? Or are there ways to get more real-time stats with this program?

    Thanks!

    Erin,

    The only thing that I can think of is that you can check the "referring source" from the GA for your website. It will show you how many times people have clicked through your ad and gone to your website. It's the only thing I can think of.

    I have been using postlets also. Thinking that I should just create my own code so it ties into my site design and use that for craigslist and other ads. Has anyone done this yet? Sorry, know this is off topic...

    Why not create a 1x1 pixel image, give it a name like 100main.gif, upload it to your server, and use your http stats to see how many times 100main.gif was downloaded?

    Just insert into your postlets code:
    <img src="http://yourdomain.com/tracking/100mainstreet.gif" height=1 width=1 />

    Not sure if this is a good idea or not, let me know :

    If you only have one listing on craigs, make a simple redirect. Send the people that click to a link that redirects to the page you really want them to see. You aren't misleading anyone, but you can use pageviews on the redirect site to let you know the clickthrough.

    The image is good, if you host your server, or can actually check that. If you use someone like Top Producer (hello ) you can't do that option though.
    If you're not remembered, you never existed.
