Mailing saves time but not money, but if your time is worth more then the money it cost to do a mailing then do the mailing, But if you are new, Like me I will deliver them myself. If I save $100 per day doing it myself then I will do it myself. because not only am i doing it to get business I am doing to save money too. But once again you need to be in a situation where you are not working with clients all day, if you have any free time at all, then maybe it will be best to deliver it yourself. and take the money you save and use it to buy more flyer's and business cards, or use it for other advertising that you cant do yourself.

I am a new agent ( about 16 months) and I just started walking flyers to about 500 townhouses with recent sales ( not mine ) listed in the flyer as a hook to get people to keep the flyer, at least for a while. If I do this every other month I hope to get at least one or two listings in a year.

One small practical problem I had was figuring out where to put the flyer. Some homes have no easy place to leave the flyer without it falling on the porch and being litter. Another is that many townhouse areas have signs saying " No Soliciting". I have avoided those even though I do not knock on doors. Is it necessary to avoid those?
