Default Long & Foster - any input on them?

    Hi all!

As I've searched through the forums, I've read many posts on Keller Williams and Coldwell Banker, some on Century 21 and Exit Realty, but not too much on Long & Foster.

Anyone out there from Long & Foster or have dealt with them? Can you give me some insight on how they run - for example their training style, mentorship (split with agent?), etc. Anything would be great.

I've interviewed with Coldwell and they seem really great. I also interviewed with a few smaller companies, even one that is starting up on May 1 but am unsure about them. Keller is not as well known here and their office is too far for me. I've also checked Zip Realty out. Very, very different but I'm not a fan of micro-management. Next on my list to interview is Long & Foster and Century 21. So any insight on either of them would be great ahead of time.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Zip, yuck, yet another takoff on the realtor is not worth much.

when I was in delaware there were Long & Foster offices around. They did not get much respect from other agents around.

When you are interviewing remember that Coldwell, C21, Weichert, Prudential, & ERA are all old line companies with different degrees of evolution. If you were able to interview their top agents you would find a high percentage of said agents started with them or came to them from another of the above said companies. If you did the same thing with Keller Williams, & Re/Max you would find that a big percentage of all their agents also came from the above mentioned companies. To add to that KW has gone from 2000 agents in 1983 to over 72,000 agents today, why such big growth? I do not know Re/Max growth numbers but I suspect something similar.

Now why do you think that is????

who you choose is less important than how fast you learn and how much you invest in yourself.

I started at KW about 8 months ago. They have a good ethic about everything. I had to work part time and do Real Estate. They are very nice about it, when other companies gave me a hard time. The training is great, but every office runs their comm. structure different. I started at 80/20 plus a 6% franchise fee. Once I reach an amount like 120,000 (in CA) in gross comm, the rest of the years comm is 100%. I think thats good, they provide me with a great office and support along with international training and support. I like it!
