Yeah, the flash looks better. Remember, the first impression for a website, is what appears without scrolling. You want a lot of good stuff inSo making that flash smaller was vital.

If you're not remembered, you never existed.
Just a couple small comments on that page...I think it would look a lot better if you did the whole page with a sans serif font, such as verdana or arial. I also think the Contact Me photo (in the circle) would look more professional without the fade effect and shaped as a simple square/rectangle.

Thanks for the input, I will try to change the picture when I have a chance and maybe change the font. Thanks a lot guys!
The Home page loads much faster with me now!
The removal of the signup box was aa very good decision

Well, it's getting a lot better. I don't like the text-over-flash on the front page. It's annoying and takes too long to read it. After about 30 seconds, I quit waiting for the message to finish.
I'd also recommend getting rid of the photo ... or at least that fade-effect. That's a bit cheesy IMO and was trendy about 10+ years ago on the web. About the same time that people were making those big 3D buttons for us to click on.
My only other comment is that your sub-pages don't look as good as the home page. You need to apply they styles/colors used on the front page to all the sub-pages as well.

Thanks for the input, although I don't know what you are talking about:

I'm just not quite sure what you are talking about for either of those, tell me a little more. ThanksI'd also recommend getting rid of the photo ... or at least that fade-effect
I'm on this page: http://www.homeinthewoodlands.com/HTML/aboutme.html
All of the pages that you have listed in your navigation menu display these same characteristics ... they're just not on the front page.
Also, I'd recommend only using 2 different fonts, 2 font sizes and 2 font colors for your entire site. There's a lot of variation (big, small, bold, dark blue, black, italics, serifs, san serifs, bright blue links, small black links, etc.). You need much more consistency.

Thanks for the ideas. I guessI agree a little about the background colors and fonts but I would love to hear what others have to say about the flash text at the top. Sorry, not trying to bash your idea but if anyone else thinks different then I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks
