I sell Houston homes and write at this blog dedicated to Real Estate Technology for agents. I originally created this Houston Real Estate site and switched to REW - awesome decision.
execellent idea, would be a great and inexpensive route to advertise home listings.

Sounds interesting, how were you thinking of implementing this?
Starting LEC 7 soon but it won't be called LEC 7 - LEC 2012 coming soon!
well if you go into the testtube part of youtube, you could use the "active sharing" or "streaming" options, the only problem is you have to be always logged on. You can always use your channel option as well. Example : www.youtube.com/PrestigeGroup .
I think youtube has its place, but I use it differently. What I do is place a hidden page on my site. If I want to show an out of area client something about a particular home, I record it, upload to youtube, paste the code onto my hidden page and email the link with a description. One buyer had the hots for a 7000 home with a 7 car garage after having seen it on the internet. I stood out by the pool, recorded the road noise from the highway, showed him how passing cars could look into his back yard and he immediately ruled it out. I didn't want to waste my time or his by showing it to him. I deleted the video from the hidden page and still have it around to show other things.
I have been thinking of using YouTube for video advertising (in a viral marketing way) but I need to come up with a good script first.
I have been using this a little bit as you describe, but it's not seriously professional...
I do make sure each of my videos have my website encoded in them, and also make sure I put my website in descriptions, etc. Each time I post one on google videos, youtube, or yahoo videos, I usually get an email within hours from google that they have indexed my website again

Most of these were created for new homes I have been selling to out of state investors purchasing in the Indianapolis area, so it's mostly just a quick video of a home they may purchase.

Sam - That is a great idea. I have used my site plenty of times to post photos for a particular listing rather than emailing them and I thought I was ahead of the game, but I haven't ever even thought of using it for video posts.
Craig - You are using YouTube very actively. How is it working thus far?
