    Default Keword meta tags questions

When I am first setting up each page of my REW Template website there are two fields, that so far I have only stuck the towns in?

    Meta Description
    Meta Keywords

So for example, in my village of Marvin, so far I have only put in Marvin.
What other keywords should go in there? Do capitals count?

    MARVIN REAL ESTATE
    Marvin Real Estate
    Marvin Subdivisions
    Marvin Real Estate agent
    Marvin Broker
What else? maybe "Village of Marvin"

Would I put these examples in both the "Meta Description" and "Meta Keywords"?

Can I view source at your websites and see these values?

Also when writing content, should I do a use a keyword finder like:
    http://www.wordtracker.com/index.html
    or
    http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/
and place the high KEI words in the Meta tags, or just use them for content?

Thanks in advance for any help!

For your meta keywords you can include anything that's represented on the page separated by commas or just the terms in one string.

eg. marvin real estate, marvin subdivisions, etc. OR mavin real estate subdivisons etc.

The truth is though, that it doesn't really matter just keep them unique to each page.

The meta description, again unique to each page, should be a sentence or two accurately describing the page contents that if used by search engines might be compelling enough to deliver a click.

VRI hit the nail on the head.

Say you have a page for a community, the description might talk about:

Great priced homes in the <name> community, just near <name of close community>.

After that, you might describe some unique's, like areas of interest. Usually descriptions are 2-4 sentences.
If you're not remembered, you never existed.

I was wondering about Meta keywords, Can you have to many of them

For example I am focused on 10 different towns all of which are within 10 miles of me. I know that you should cover the different ways that people might look such as

    real estate ...
    ... real estate
    Homes ...
    ... homes
    Realtor ...
    ... Realtor
    Condos ....
    Townhomes ...

and so forth. Please tell me more about this and am I all wrong on that or ...

do you have individual pages for each town? And you can put fair amount in the Metas, just try to keep them specific to each area.

I will have individual pages for each town yes.

I was wondering about the validity of putting all of that on the main page as well, which has IDX and a CMA link on it.

Guess what I am trying to at least equalize is in 3 of the towns I focus on I have this website sitting in the #1 position in goog organic results for almost any search I can think of.

    ww. adlerbenjamin. com

take out the spaces and put the w back in. (not going to promote her site, it has enough promotion as it is)!! The listed site is from a agent in my own office that supposedly did 50million in business last year and 80+% of it came through her website and web marketing.

check it out, tell me your thoughts on how to beat that, because that is what is coming in some of the less competitive towns that I am also focused on.

    Thanks

    Hi SummitNJ,

    I suggest moving, and fast!

Looking at her website, it would not make me want to come back, except based on all her experience/testimonials.

I say slay her (it will take a few years), but start with a REW template site, look at it as an investment, in your future! That's what I am doing. Good luck, if you know of anyone moving to Charlotte, send them my way! People are leaving there by the droves for NC!

    Funny

Well given that I am focus on:
Morristown Morris Township Madison Chatham Florham Park Summit Short Hills Millburn Maplewood & South Orange

and she is focused on these towns that over lap:
Summit Short Hills Millburn Maplewood & Chatham

So I am thinking build up as much as I can SEO wise for all of the towns, Knowing that I have a better shot in the short run where there is not over lap with her and others, and be content to creep on on them in the markets where there is overlap.

I talked to Homes. com yesterday. What a ripoff, I just wanted to post a listing on their site with a link to my web page. Yep can do that, cheapest I can do it is $50 a month and it will be buried deep in their site. I did find out that even with their average 7th to 15th place organic placement and their PPC campaign they are getting on average about 240 clicks a month on one of the towns I do, and about 220 clicks on another and close to 400 clicks on still another, and that was when I was Bord with the call and like a fool did not let him share any more of their stats mixed in with the painful sales call.
