Besides, everybody knows most houses sell through the MLS and most people (or their agents) shop online via the MLS or IDX so I'm not sure what this shenanigan really accomplished other than making you feel shrewd and clever.

Hopefully your ethics aren't representative of the REW staff in general. (You are staff right?)
Webmaster is pretty much the head honcho around here (or at least likes to think he is). I just went through shopping for a home and there is almost NO broker reciprocity in our area. You really can't rely on MLS and IDX to get the job done so I can associate with webmaster. And the market is really hot here too. Someone has just sold another townhouse in my complex for $15K more than I paid for mine 3 months ago.

On the topic of signs, I was going to say something humorous like 'use them as snow shoes', but I realized that the topic was actually pretty serious. One owner of a townhouse in my complex must have taken a sign from a prior listing or someone else's home and had written on the back '3 Bedroom 2 Bath townhouse $<price>'. I was quite insulted that they were selling it in such an unprofessional manner, but now you guys have made me think of the question of exactly who the sign belonged to?
