    Default SEO Tools

After the update my site is returning top 5 results for about 7 different search strings and top 12 for the main ones "city real estate". What are some of the best tools to use to see what search strings are bringing visitors to my site and how many unique visitors are coming? Used many tools, just wondering what everyone thinks is the best (most accurate).

The most accurate way to tell what search terms folks are using to get to your site is to access your log files (sometimes referred to as "analytics". This stuff is the actual data of people coming to your site, where they came from and what they did while they are there.

Hittails is also a good way of doing things as well.

What sort of hosting / analytics package do you have? You can always use Google Analytics as well, but I prefer looking at my own stuff as opposed to shipping it off to others...(grin)

You live in a really pretty part of the world...

    Pleased to meet you!

My experience is that the data you collect from your server is less accurate than installing a code on your site like Google Analytics.

    Eric & Chris,

Thanks, I have put the 3 different codes for hittail on all the pages and the data is already flowing in. Pretty cool. What would be really great is if you could see what someone does once they reach your site. Different pages they navigate to and what page they exit from.

Anybody using both hittail and Google analytics on the same pages? I'm curious what hittail adds on top of what Google analytics has already.

Anybody have any experience with Web CEO? I have been using it for about three weeks and have been pretty impressed with it. It includes a subscription (15 day trial) to an add on "Hitlens" that inserts code onto your pages then provides a ton of good tracking info. I am also hosting through Godaddy and use their tracking stuff as well. It provides slightly different info so I will maintain it for now.

I am. Not much really - I like the real time aspect of Hittail as compared to analytics lag time. However analytics is much more robust.

I can help you find houses for sale in Houston and also write at this blog dedicated to real estate technology for agents. I originally created this Houston Real Estate site and switched to REW - awesome decision.
