Question Desperate to get a positive PageRank

    Greetings to all,
Although my real estate site for Greece has been up for just 2 months it hasn't been ranking well in google for its keyphrases. However, after taking care of most of the SEO business, I figured out I lacked backlinks that will improve my PageRank (currently 0)...exchanged som reciprocals as well..

Im desperate to increase my pagerank to 2 at least, and Im asking you guys...is there a shortcut to get PageRank 2 in 2 weeks or less? what do I have to do?

I know that to get a good page rank you have to work hard and exchange links with sites that similar to your etc. And those real estate directories with pageranks of more than 4 cost a lot, however, if there is one or a few that I had to pay for but would assure/guarantee that I get a positive PageRank...let me know.
Thanks in advance.. learned a lot here at REW..recommend it

Pushing for two PR advancements in that deadline may lead you to disappointment. What's with the urgency? You are going to have to start getting links from authoritive websites. I'd recommend commenting on blogs related to your industry.

Even then, you have to allow for the page to be cached and the links picked up. Two weeks is pushing it.

    OK...fair enough..
the reason why I want to receive at least 2 pr so soon..is because the season is right for the sale of property in Greece and an urgency to get exposure now is a matter of priority...already running PPCs for the moment. but need mroe exposure..

You say I have to get links from authoritive websites...I couldn't agree more...but to contact many of the websites in my industry requires a lot of time, patience and luck...which should eventually lead to a higher pagerank..however, is there anyway I can prepare myself to getting quality links today, right now..and the next time the pages are cahed and links picked up...i will be credited these PR for my site...
blogs? how authoritive are they? aren't some diectories a better way?
for example, is, or are there good real estate directories for international estate that will definately help me in getting a good rank next time the links are cached? I need something concrete..because Im willing to put a few bucks into getting my PR up.

I appreciate your advice RESteve..thank you

You won't see PR in the toolbar for a while, they just did an update recently. It will more than likely be a couple of months before you see another update.

If I buy a basic listing at realestateyellow. com /submitsite.htm for $99..
will that assure me a good pagerank in the long run?
Their pagerank goes everywhere grom PR2 ro PR6 depending where the link is placed... is it worth it?
I don't mean this to be a promo for this website..just taking it as an example
    Thanks

    Greekhomes,

Google is constantly updated what they see as your PR, what you see in the toolbar is some snapshot from some point in the recent past...To build your TRUE pagerank in the eyes of Google, you will need to acquire good one way links from many different sources. Here are some things you can do rather quickly.
    • Get an REW Blog
    • Set up an account at ezinearticles.com and start writing relevant articles related to the content of your website that will be helpful to a consumer. You can put a link to the author (you) or your website in the author recource box. Read their TOS.
    • Write some press releases to get the message out. A good place to write press releases is free-press-release.com.
    • List your website in relevant one way directories.
Come back once you have done that and get working on building yourself in other online communities, commenting on good blogs that are interesting to you and don't do anything that would artificially inflate your rankings. Put the consumer first...

    Excellent suggestions, Ryan.

Getting that PR in two weeks isn't being realistic. It takes time.

Focus on pr if you're having difficulty getting/keeping pages indexed and/or out of the supplementals. As has been said here, what you see is not necessarily what's there and the toolbar is only updated quarterly so it's better to look at the site command (as well as your log files for spider traffic) than to be waiting on the toolbar.

If you're crawl/indexing is good, look to get as many related quality links pointed to your site with appropriate/varied anchor text. Those may come from any of the methods referenced, not the least of which is creating compelling content on your site, as well as many others.

The other side of the coin, achieving a pr 2... just get one decent link from a pr3/4 or a bunch of two's if you're gonna keep moving in that direction.
don't do anything that would artificially inflate your rankings

There was a PR update on Apr-27 and it's usually every 3 months, so you have a minimum of 2 months to wait to have some displayed. Like VRI say, don't worry too much about PR, specially if you already get a decent crawl rate, it means you are doing what is right.
