    Default Interesting Find on Registrations

On my site, while I was waiting for my Wolfnet IDX to be set up, I decided to make all MLS searches "members" only just to see what happens.

I did it for about a few hours and thought to myself, "Nah; let's just let them see it and when the IDX comes in the registration option will be there. Mandatory registrations annoy me anyways."

Well, I took it down the member-only requirement, but incidentally left the section where a user could login/register. So basically when viewing listings, at the top, the user still sees the ability to login and register, but is not required to to see the listings.

Low and behold since May 25th, I had 7 registrations from 453 unique visitors (as of yesterday) to the home page and of that, 110 unique visitors to the MLS search.

    Your thoughts?

Are those registration stats any better than when you didn't have the login?
Do you referrals from search engines show any spikes for specific terms?

Well I never had registration available period. Keep in mind that the registration is for the site itself and not for the MLS. The MLS is framed on my site. So to answer your question, yes; I've never had the registration available this is better than nothing.

Nope. Main KW's are hitting very nicely and longtails are coming in as expected. Hittail shows me that as of this very moment people are coming in the way they've always been. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

I guess it all depends on your lead generation/conversion before the registration process.
