My question is, can bpo's actually be a source of full time income without getting the listings? Is there plenty of work?

Broker's Price Opinion. Banks and other companies sometimes pay for a real estate agent or broker to give their opinion of what market price is for a particular piece of property.
I am sure there is going to be a lot more BPO work in the not so distant future. I would say sometime in January after the Fed can't keep rates this low any more.
try www.agentsonline.net and go to the REO/BPO section

Wow, Now I know what a BPO is as well! - Thanks Chachi!
Come to think of it, I had someone call me from a bank and asked me several questions similar to that for a condo construction project they were about to fund for and he wanted my personal opinion.. And To think, I could have gotten paid for it... (if I was more qualified I'm sure!) BPO go figure....
Went to www.bpofactory.com. I did not see any info on BPO's.

It depends entirely on the market in your area.
I maintain between 200 and 700 monthly income from doing only bpos but I make much more form bpos that result in a listing(very few)
While the bpomarket in my area is fairly saturated with agents doing these services. Some agents I've talked to seem to be the sole provider for their area, and as a consiquence make as much as 2000 a month on a regular basis.
So testing the water in your area is the only way to be sure of the income potential.
FYI BPOS can take between 30 min and as long as 5 hours depending on upload requirements, complexitivity of forms, search requirements, and person doing quality assurance for each bpo firm.

I agree it depends on your area, I get anywhere from 10-20 hits from banks to do BPO's every week at 40-80 bucks each, but you have to be willing to put in time they can take a while depending on the system and you have to jump on them when they are offered in your area otherwise someone else will snatch them up.
A few years ago I had a very successful BPO business, I traveled out of my area and was willing to do the ones knowone wanted. But it paid pretty good. Now the market is saturated with Agents and the companies have cut there fees way down.
Which is ashame, as they usually get as much as 200 - 250 to have us only get paid by 15-50 a piece. It depends greatly on your area.
