First let me thank all of you for a great resource. I'm working on a website for a friend of mine and I'm just getting into SEO. I have read the basics and started working on off page SEO as well as On page SEO. I have seen the amount of IBL's increase on MSN on almost a daily basis. I also see the spiders hitting in my logs now.

I would like your opinions on:

The general look and feel of the website.
On Page SEO

Also, I (regretably) used Front Page to build it. The code generated isn't as clean as I had hoped so I'm thinking about redoing it in Dreamweaver.

If you look at the source code, you can see that I'm using include pages (this makes changes to navigation, header, and footer much easier). The problem is that I'm doing my on page optimization on the include pages and not on the actual index page. I think this is causing my keyword density and relavence to be pretty low. Is the structure I'm using spider friendly? How can I see what is being spidered on the page?

Also, any other feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick response. I can reduce the size of the pictures without a problem. I'm debating on where I should be spending my time right now. Should I optimize my HTML and get rid of the errors that are there? How important is clean HTML to the SE's? Or should I focus my energy on creating IBL's in free directories. I know it takes a while for google SERP's to pop up so I would like to look good to MSN and Yahoo, then build IBL's to google for more long term.

Clean code makes spiders job easier to read.

I'm curious how much weight valid html gets. When I pull up a competitor in html validator (www.dreamtown.com) for one of my key phrases, they have 50 errors. With that said I have read enough to know there are many factors that go into SERPS and my goal will be to clean up my code.

Kyle, one thing about the 375 keywords, I don't have that many. I think it is taking the body of my include page and using that for some reason. These include pages seem to becoming more of a headache for on page SEO.

Would it hurt to have good code? Most likey not. Would you possibly benefit from good code? Isn't worth the effort. Here is any easy way to make your code clean: HTML TIDY Free program.

It's characters not words. So it takes into account each letter and space.

Thanks for your help. I took your advice and have been reducing images/image size and using the tools you recommend I can see my changes are working!

It's funny what you said about hiding email because I'm getting tons of spam now to the address on my site.
