Hidden Text

Would you link with a site which has a paragraph of virtually hidden text at the bottom of the homepage? It's not exactly white text on white background, but it's pretty close. You actually have to highlight the text with your mouse to read it. Can your site be penalized for linking to such a site?
Below is the site I'm referring to:

www(dot)4mysales(dot)com

After navigating the site I also noticed that when you click on the "Home" link on the nav bar to return to the home page, you're returned to 4mysales(dot)com/index.php which doesn't have the nearly hidden text.

By the way, i wouldn't link to this site anyway because I can't seem to navigate to the recip links pages from the homepage, but I am curious about the hidden text issue.

maybe it's just me, but i didn't see any hidden text, and i found there links pages. Although before linking i'd ask why none of there links pages are cached and if they wished to exchange links then they'd have to place my links on a cached page.

On his main page there is keyword text that is very hard to see. Maybe you have a better monitor than I do.

Nah Jason, it's not just you buddy. After I questioned him about it a couple of times he removed the text.

well that's good. i'm sure he realized that he is more likely to hurt his site then help it by doing that. A lot of people are new and they just don't realize some of this stuff. I remember back when that was the thing to do. It was a long time ago now though.

He removed the text, but still has the hidden perios links at the bottom.

In addition to the hidden links another member has been receiving email SPAM from this site. This sounds more like deceptive practices than ignorance.

I think its "I just do not know better" When I first got my site and started marketing online, I looked at other people who were on top and tried to copy the techniques I SAW. But fortuantley I "quickly" realized that if your number 1 for a long period of time its due to what you can not "see". More importantly due to site designs and other things,,,,, things that work for some sites would not work for others.
