Enhanced Image Search

Is there any benefit to having this enabled in Google webmaster tools?

Here is there quote:

If you choose to enable enhanced image search, Google will use tools such as Google Image Labeler to associate the images included in your site with labels that will improve indexing and search quality of those images.

What benefit might be gained with this tool?

So, this is pure speculation on my part, but won't that help with the dissemination of the alt tags associated with the image files on our websites? I have them named all kinds of things that might be beneficial to me during an image search. Sound right or am I way off the mark?

Interesting, I would think having your images names would be helpful since search engine spiders don't see pictures, just labels.

Just keep in mind, the google image labeler is only for a google image search.

So if someones searches google image for real estate, and you pop up.. they are trying to find pictures.. not a place to look to buy.

It doesn't hurt, but meh.

But Google also often shows the top 3 images in the normal web search, and we can expect that kind of thing to continue, I believe.

I'd also say "it doesn't hurt" but in the future it might help more than it does now.
