    Default Choosing between 2 brokerages

I want to concentrate on city A, which I'm most familiar with, where people know me and which has higher property values. The brokerage I'm considering there has a less experienced husband (competing agent) and wife (non-competing) office manager/broker/owner team. While the brokerage I'm considering in city B, which borders city A has a more experienced (non-competing) broker/owner who worked for many years prior in city A. They both offer similar training, the exact same commission splits and leads by way of floor time and call ins. With all else being equal:

City A brokerage (located in city I'd like to focus on)
-Training appears to be less extensive and trainers are less experienced.
-Floor time leads would most likely be from the area I want to focus on with higher property values.
-Calls coming into general mail box after hours are handed out by city 1st and then rotating agents who broker considers handle that particular city.
-Will not place announcement ad in paper that I've joined the office but will give me 200 post cards including postage.
-Ongoing post cards (just listed, just sold, etc) postage not included thru imprev at $10/month whether you use them or not

    City B brokerage (neighboring city)
-Training seems to be a bit more extensive and the broker is much more experienced especially in city A where I want to focus.
-Floor time leads most likely from area I'm not all that interested in with lower property values.
-Calls coming into general mail box after hours are handed out by rotation of entire office.
-Will place announcement ad in local paper that I've joined the office and give me 100 announcement post cards postage not included
-Ongoing free post cards (just listed, just sold, etc) postage not included along with mailing lists as long as we agree to let an affiliate mtg co. co-brand the backs.

Which would you choose and how much of a consideration should it be working out of an office in a city other than the one I plan to focus on?

Get your self a few grains of salt, as I am new to the profession. I say go for the city you want to focus on. On second thought . . . Hell, I'm sorry I cant be of any further assistance.

I am in sort of the same "pickle" - trying to determine if I should stay where I am or go to another brokerage. I do think, however, that leads are VERY MIPORTANT. I am experiencing a drout of sorts myself so leads to me are like water in the desert!

Avoid the Competing Broker like the plague. The wife in City A competes with you ... you just don't know it.

I'd look for another broker in City A. Surely there's more than 1.

I work for a broker who sells and have never had an issue.

As far as the city issue goes, I would go to a company in the city you want to concentrate on. Once you get some experience you will regret not being in that city. I am sure you could get other options with better training in that city.
