    Default Cool new glossary features

As if it wasn't cool enough, I have just finished working with Mikey on a bunch of cool new features that will improve the usability of the glossary, and also drastically help the interlinking (Thus page rank and SERPS) for the glossary - with increased page rank to the glossary pages, will also come more pagerank to the links of the users that submit terms to the glossary (So your blogs will get more page rank from the glossary)

Some of the features added to the glossary:

Related terms: The glossary does a full text search of the definitions entered, and if there is a phrase in the definition that also happens to be defined elsewhere, a link from that page under "related terms" will show on that page.

Alternate spellings: This will help the latent semantics and rankings for a term - this is a new feature that allows users to submit alternate spellings for a term. For instance "Search Engine Optimization" is also known as "Search Engine Optimisation" to the brits

Spell Checker: When entering a new term, you now have the ability to check spelling right at the time of submission (Helps me not have to edit so much hehe)

I also made a bunch of onpage optimization tweaks that I won't bore you with, titles, h1's optimizing for the google "define:" query etc - but anyways, they mean more traffic so trust me they are good

Cool!! Looks good. Is there a way to link definitions that have two different names? Would that qualify as alternate spelling or something different?

    Thanks.

Over the weekend I added "real estate" and "real estate brokerage" to the glossary but didn't get a link to the blog. Perhaps I missed a step when submitting the definitions?

If you put the different name in the definition it will show up under the related terms if both are defined.

For instance, if you put: Spider: Sometimes referred to as a search bot, blah blah blah

And you put Search Bot: Sometimes referred to as a spider

Then they would show up in each others related terms.

Alternate spellings are more like "search engine optimization" and "search engine optimisation"

So... in "theory"... if I defined 'the' and 'a', and even 'and' I'd most likely get a link on every definition?

Only kidding. I love the idea of this glossary though...

They wouldn't get accepted, but yes in theory your definitions would have a HUGE amount of page rank.

One of the tricks to optimizing your definitions is choice so you could do this legitimately.

Define terms that are likely going to show up in other people's descriptions (But do it well and uniquely as duplicates will not be accepted) - you could pick terms like "search engine" or "Realtor" or "Broker" imagine how many times those works will be mentioned in other definitions.

Cool was looking through the analytics for the glossary, and got a search for nonconforming loan, checked it and the definition is already on the first page

Super nifty coolness. Sounds like a lot of work - but awesome stuff!
