    Default OK SEO..poor site???

    hi everybody...
i have this site running for a bit more than 3 months...thanks to all the tips here I managed to do a decent SEO.

however, even though im getting good traffic...both organic and mostly from google ads...about 3000-4000 unique visitors per month...im not getting many leads..or sales?

now I ask you..do you think it is because of the sites poor design, usability issues and/or content quality? or is it all..or am I targeting the wrong audience with my ambitious keywords such as Greek Real Estate, Greek Homes etc. or is it simply a display of unattractive offers ..or bad luck
Since my profession is not in real estate and I do this for a real estate developer in Greece...maybe can justify the few leads...well, neither does my profession say web developer...although I did write the code (copy-paste) for the site...making it a bit messy..and not perfect for seo..but still ok i guess.
i would reallly appreciate your opinions...and I hope it wont require drastic changes to the site..as I have already put a lot of time and work into it.

    thanks in advance
p.s. i reviewed one site already, hoping to review some more soon

    Greekhomes,

Generally, the site looks nice and I don't see anything that would chase someone away from it.

You do have a lot of coding errors. You might benefit from validating your web pages using a resource like: http://www.htmlvalidator.com/.

If I wanted more folks to contact me, I'd make it easier to get to the contact form. In the upper left, you have a link (the smallest text on the page) to the contact email address. The CONTACT menu item is lost in the text at the bottom of the left hand menu.

A more noticeable button might entice more folks to the contact page. Something like the Contact button in the middle of this page: http://www.customcalcs.com/index.htm.

You're welcome to copy the button to your site if you wish, though the colors aren't quite right for the blue page.

The hardest thing for me to do with my own web sites is to make the purpose of the page the easiest thing for a visitor to accomplish. It sounds easy, but I struggle with it.

    Hi greek

Very nice site, lots of info, too much. With the url greek homes you should expect a lot of traffic from SERPS however your market is very limited, so the number of enquiries will be low. You are giving too much away. If you want to increase enquires; take out the location and or the prices. The enquires will be from 90% time wasters who are looking for product which is cheaper or on the islands, but at least your client will have some emails to write.

Optimise for more localised terms. You have too many keywords in the metas and the url will grab visitors for the country name, try a more localised approach, for the peninsular. Buyers with this sort of budget you should expect will know the area and be searching more locally. Re-write some of the the content to focus serps on the local area.

Heya, what you really want is "Longtail traffic". I had a lot of visitors with general keywords as well (try "luxury villa") but no one will convert.

Try to catch the few guys who will enter "2 bedroom apartment in Chalkidiki" or even like your h2 "Seaside home in Chalkidiki". You should always try to give the "searching person" what he is looking for And the conversions will increase dramatically.

    All the best Frank

I agree about the information. There is lots... and i think that's great. It seems it would pull in only the very serious buyer who finds something they really like and are serious about.

If you want just a lot more contact though, maybe you should try something like - google maps showing locations of all the places... then the square footages, etc. After that, you may try with/without prices and see when people contact the most.

greekhomes, I would take a look at what people are doing on the site when the come to it. Take a look at the exit pages. Are they just coming to the home page and then leaving? Are they going to a few pages and then leaving the site?

You might also try putting Crazy Egg on your site for a while to see what they're doing on your site. If there's a certain spot that they're looking at, you might consider moving your "call to action" closer to that spot on the page.

    Hi,

    Thanks for sharing the information.

Site hosting is important aspect of SEO. If you can't afford to host your site it will not go up. The good news is the prices of hosting has come down quite a bit over the last few years so it shouldn't be difficult to find a company to do this for you. When choosing a host, you want to select a company who will keep your site upand running as well as provide you with technical support when a problem occurs. The support you receive should be immediate.
