    Default Lead Capture Rate

Ok, I totally revamped my site on July 18th to a lead capture only site.

I've only had 20 unique visitors since then (exactly 20 as of this second) and I've had 5 registrations. Registrations require Full name, two phone numbers, email address, price range of homes, credit rating, and how much they have for a down payment.

So, does a 25% lead capture rate seem decent? I pay about $.79 a visit.

The reason I'm asking is because my page is not and never will be search engine friendly. It's basically just a landing page with a call to action. I'm considering a full blown SEO site, so I'm not a slave to rising PPC.

    Thanks for everyone's time,
    - Matt Mouser

25% is extremely good. You have an easy registration process. However, the numbers are a bit skewed, since the volume of visitors is low. Either way, you are keeping your cost per click low too. Are you bidding on long-tail search terms?

Well lets just say if you keep up at that rate you will be in the hall of fame, but don't expect to keep those numbers once you get more at bats. Pardon the baseball analogy.

We probably get about 5% or thereabouts, but the numbers are relatively high. If we got 25%, we would need about 100 agents to work everything properly. Where is your site? I would be interested in seeing it.

As far as not spending enough on traffic, I have the option to purchas $1700 worth of traffic/month priced at $.79 a click. All the visitors are specifically looking to search for homes in my city only, so that's probably why my capture numbers are a bit inflated. The visitors have kind of prequalified themselves.

As far as my site is concerned, it's a very simple platform. It only has 3 links on the landing page as follows:

    - Get help from a professional realtor
    - Search homes without a realtor
    - Registered users login

The first two links go to a registration form. I'll let you guess which link every person clicks. It doesn't matter though because I get all their contact info anyways. After they register I use cold fusion to automatically email me all the contact info. The user is then dumped into a page with login info. After they login they're taken to the private side of the site which again has only 3 links as follows:

    -Search the MLS database
    -Get listings emailed to you
    -What's my home worth?

I would be very happy with 25% do everything you can to keep it that way.

Are you saying that you pay $1700 a month for PPC? If so, that would be 1 lead per day = $56 per lead.

No way do I pay $1700/mnth..

I have the option of buying as much traffic as I want up to 2,151 visits/month at $.79 a visit.

If I were to pay that much ($1700) I'd generate 400-500ish leads/month. Currently I only buy about $100 worth every month. I could never handle that many leads (400) on my own. This is my first week or so of doing this, so I'm kinda waiting to see how these leads pan out. But, I do have to say that I'm very happy with how well my registration process is working on my site compared to the stats everyone else has been telling me they get.

I'm still considering going the SEO/blogsite route too.

Matt I checked out your site, you said you are getting 25% lead capture , but the only way to get into your site is to register, so then that means you are driving away 75% of the traffic that never even make it into your site. I assume you are getting a ton of false leads, I am not saying it is wrong because you probably are driving a lot of non serious buyers but you also can be driving away potential qualified buyers that most likely won't return your site.
