Google Alerts Question

I recently signed up to Google alerts which is great thanks to a post on this forum, my question is how would you get an article to appear in this? simply by blogging?

Pick a random string of 4-5 words in your article & set the alert up surrounded by quotations. Like this:
"is great thanks to a post"

I recently set up an alert for my name. Since my name is not extremely common, I'll know when my articles are picked up or if someone posts something about me. (I also get to keep tabs on a youth minister in IL.)

So is it the quotations that get the article noticed then? Interesting....

the quotations are a command to google to look for words appearing in that order, rather than just looking for the words on the page.

You could also post the article to your site, and setup an alert for:

site:www[dot]sitename[dot]com

When the page is indexed, the alert will......alert you in your email.
