    Default Importance of Title

My home page is optomized pretty well, probably got over 100 quality inboound links, have many blogs and forum responses pointing to the home page as well. Most of my inbound linking so far has been for my home page.

With that said here is a question. For the keyword "hideout real estate" I have included it on my home page becuase it is a very highly searched keyword and community in my area. I rescently made a community page for this community on my site. The only inbound link to this internal page is from 1 blog on REW. Why does this internal page get higher search results than my home page for this keyword? Does having too many keywords hurt my homepage and make it seem to general? Also is it because the title for the internal page is "hideout real estate".

The answer to these questions would give me tremendous insight to how this all works.

    Thanks in advance.

Hideout real estate is probably not a very competitive term. Having a page dedicated to it will have a better optimization - higher kw density and better relevance - in the eyes of Google and other search engines.

with that said, would you say I should remove the keyword "hideout real estate" from my main page, or should this not effect anything?

I dont see a need to remove that keyword. Often combined long tail searches can bring more business then one highly searched keyword. Just make sure you are covering your bases with your more generic keywords as well, and maybe make one page of your site devoted to "hideout real estate".

You mean its not like a baker's dozen and "3 links allowed in your signature", doesn't actually mean 4?

    (Just teasing!!)

I have community pages within my site... some do really well... # one of yahoo and googe... and some stay way down. But I treat them all the same... a little internal linking and seo to the title and keywords... but if nothing else having that one page can be useful to your users- which is most importaint

My opinion is to combine highly competitive keywords with the unique ones. Add the name of your country, area, more local information, the name of your company. Don't be afraid to dillute your content with non-general words. It will certainly attract traffic - the most important thing we should aim at.
