Default Investing in real estate in India

Is it profitable to invest in real estate in India? I have heard that many foreigners are investing in land and buildings in many states of India. Is it really worth it? Which are the states/areas of India with most demand in land and buildings?

I have heard of this but Im a little worried about the laws in India. I would be worried the property would get govt siezed for some strange reason.

The most booming state in India - for real estate is Kerala. Being said as the God's own country, Kerala is developing in all aspects. Due to the lesser area in the state, the land and buildings cost much higher. There is no such seizure by the Govt in the state. Many foreign companies are buying land and buildings for residential and official purposes in Cochin - which is the business capital of the state.

i haven't heard of this either, i don't think you'd stand very much of a chance against local competition.

I don't think that there are any unhealthy competitions to invest in land anywhere in India.
