Finally Seeing Results!

I started my link building about 3 months ago. To start off all I can say is the process is very frustrating in waiting to see results. It was about 6 weeks before my links started to appear in Google Webmasters. I could see them in yahoo explorer but nothing from Google. Then they started to appearing, suddenly 500 links but according to the Google Toolbar still no green gold (even though I know this isnt accurate, a bit of green would have given me the encouragement to contiune.) But I did still continue following other linking practises I learned here . I used other PR check tools like seochat and they still said I had PR0 and I know I got some good one way links. Then I decided to check where I rank for one of my key terms "overseas property" and I'm ranked 35th on google.ie . This put such a smile on my face at least now I could see how link building works, I was very surprised to rank so well for a competitive term. Since ranking, I have invested in a link from the yahoo directory and IRed.com, so hopefully that will see me move up even further. And even after all this google says I have 0PR. Just thought I'd share this incase there's anybody else out there feeling frustrated

Congrats but Try not to focus on the green bar too much.

Over the time of your link building campaign has your traffic increased? Are you getting more visits from search engines? Are you being found under new or more targeted key words?

For me these types of metrics are more important. let us know if your traffic has increased.

Congrats on seeing the results. It takes a lot of time and patience for it to pay off. There are also a lot of great real estate directories out there that you may want to check out. A recent trend has been to write unique content and post your article on different real estate related sites. A good place that I found to check my links is on Yahoo Site Explorer. Keep up the great work.

The great side effect of link building is the referral traffic you can build. Even if you are not king (or queen!) of the SERPS, you can still have a website that people can find. Slightly over 1/4 of my traffic is from referrals. It's all about gaining visibility.

Link building can be tedious and frustrating experience but the excitement and joy you get when you see your results pays the frustration off.

Yeah I have to admit I have seen my traffic build very slowly from about 20 a day up to 70 or so a day. Is it worth all that effort for such a smal slce of traffic. My goal is to get a few thousand a day but I suppose there's no way to build up to that quickly using natural methods

As Tom Petty so aptly stated, "the waiting is the hardest part." Keep gaining links and adding content and G will reward you with better ranking.
