    Default Link Pages

From everything I read, from seo books and posts on the internet, when starting out with your new wbsite, it's an idea to try and gain a link from an authorative site. Any authorative ste I find, it seems they are only interested in recips, so my question is, is it o.k. to have link pages for recips? I've been advised not to have link pages in the past. Is it o.k. to have link pages if you gie detailed descriptions of the websites, so it appears more as contextual linking?

Yes, its ok to have link pages. But be careful, don't put excessive link amounts on it. 20 links per page should be enough. Unique descriptions for those websites will do even better.

Also, don't link to unrelated websites, such as gambling or adult websites.

I also experienced the fact that if you link to authoritative websites, it can benefit your website as well. that is in terms of content and relative outbound links.
