    Default Content and Blogs

I wasn't too sure where to post this so feel free to move it if you feel it's necessary.

My questions is in regards to content in conjunction with blogs.

I understand how important updated, fresh content is for a growing site. I also see the importance of a blog. Can my added content simply be added into my blog alone or do I need to keep adding additional pages of content to my site? If adding pages is the answer, is there a problem with duplicating my content into my blog?

Thank you in advance for your comments.

You do not want to have duplicate content. However linking to a page on your website from your blog is fine. Say for instance you have a page on your site about a home buyers seminar and you post an article on your blog about an upcoming seminar for home buyers then link to the webpage from your blog post. Hope this helps.

google cares about how old a page is. blog posts can be a good way to increase links on your site. but do not duplicate your content, otherwise those pages will be dropped and it could have an overall effect on your site.

    We do it this way:
    (1) add a unique set of content to our blogs
    (2) make small but continual changes to our current pages on our main site
    (3) try to add one new page to our site per month, with unique content

We are growing at a fast rate, so it's easy to do #3 and very hard to keep up with #1.
