Default how do you pass large companies?

I am wondering how do you pass companies like homegain.com, realtor.com that are specific to your area. These websites have thousands of links. Same with local companies like remax.com, coldwell banker, etc...Arent these going to be nearly impossible to pass in seo?

It is all about time and money most of the time... and where there's money, there's generally time... most of the time.

Have a good look at the top few for your targeted terms and try to get a handle on what it's gonna cost in time and money... Certainly everyone can't be at the top so it's going to take some resources but a couple of the more successful agents that I know have web sites that don't rank well for anything.

There are several people on this forum who are doing exactly that, seems to take time and a lot of work though!

Lots of work and effort - but certainly do-able.

From what I've seen the traffic in the first 3 positions or so (and especially #1) is exponentially higher than a ranking at 6-10.

Most of my keywords are on the front page but only in the last 5 spots. Every now and then Google will toy with my emotions by letting me rank up in the top positions for a day or so. The difference in traffic is amazing. It's definitely worth the effort in my opinion. Keep up the hard work.
