determining a sites PR

is there a tool that I can use to find out another websites PR?

I have a site that claims to be PR4 I'm looking at acquiring but I want to confirm it.

I wouldn't use PR as a valuation for purchasing a site. One paid link with high PR can make a site look like it's foolbar PR is much higher then it really is.

I agree with Ken. Instead, I would check the amount of backlinks the site has.

If it was me and I was buying it, I'd check it all, no. of backlinks, PR of backlink Pages, allinanchor text, etc.

Buying a site based on its PR is a very bad idea since more and more sites are faking their PR rankings using various cloaking techniques.

You mean the Google foolbar! Pagerank can be faked. Also, the toolbar only reflects the pagerank at the last update. The current pagerank may be far different!
