    Default Reviving Old Forgotten Threads

Lately I've started looking at the dates of posts in threads listed when you click NEW POSTS. Often, all the posts in the thread are from three or four months ago until the very last one -- and the date on that post is TODAY.

    Or yesterday.

I understand why people do it, even though it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. They want to rack up some quick post totals so they do not have a "junior" title listed in their header.

Sometimes I get sucked in if I don't look on the dates of the original posts and don't realize it is actually an "old, dead, decayed, forgotten" thread.

Not to mention any names, but.... well, never mind. It's a practice that you can't stop and I just wanted to complain about it instead of doing what I should be doing, writing articles for my end of month stuff.

I would take a thousand spammers over one person who does this. It's my biggest forum pet peeve.

This too. If I see that a thread in the intro section has over one page of posts and I haven't posted in it yet, I will PM the member... but I won't post in the thread. I've been having to unsubscribe to most intro posts these days or my inbox just gets pounded.

I was thinking more along the lines of welcoming members who have been here for 2 or 3 weeks and already have around 30 or 40 posts

That's one of the biggest reasons I didn't post the usual 'Welcome to REW' because I apparently always caught them a week late, even though I hit new posts

Peeve of mine as well - its why when I see people bumping old threads, I don't even bother responding 9 times out of 10.

A date accompanying the title would help.
