MSN does have a very small amount of traffic and I might optimize a few pages for MSN specifically if I see traffic from them showing up in analytics. I don't think they have such an aggressive sandbox as Google does, but I do think they have some limited filters in place for new sites.

Here is a tip for PPC.

Try using MSN for your PPC campaigns

The funny think with msn is that one day you are ranked well and the next not even your domain name posts. Its like you don't exist. You almost feel like you have been banned or black listed. As a result, you check using their webmaster tools and based on that you should be in position 1 and at least ranked somewhere in MSN. The reality is that you don't exist.

I agree that MSN's traffic is low, but maybe if they would rank you consistently and with a model it would generate traffic. I think something is brewing in the MSN camp. I would not be surprissed if they are doing their MSN version of a sandbox or a whole new thing.

Someone said "don't discard MSN" I would agree. They are hurting at this moment and they are ready to copy, steal, reverse engineer, what ever... something new.
