    Default New Google Product

I just came across this new item/service that the crazy folks at Google are offering to web-savvy businesses out there. They call it the Google Mini Search Appliance. You get a piece of hardware and all the software necessary to use the power of Google within your business intranet or on your website. I don't do it justice as it looks like quite a remarkable idea, so check out the official page and tell us what you think:

It's been out for at least 2 years... I have consulted for a few companies that have used it. The ability to integrate and customize is pretty impressive.

A sweet link from Google is not too shabby either...

The reason it caught my eye is because I use Google Desktop quite regularly, but people often shun it as a business application because they are concerned about informational privacy. For a large organization, this product would open up the power of a great business tool (Desktop) across the entire organization. Having a sweet link from Google and also choosing how Google indexes you would be quite handy.

It's a nice concept for a large business. Specially for a large programming firm (i.e. EA, Microsoft etc).

I think for most of us out there.. just not enough people to warrant it. I mean my firm we use a few servers.. but I can find almost any file within 5 minutes through my searching
