    Default Content copied!!

Hey, I must be writing some decent content, because one of my local competitors just control-V'd one of my REW blog articles to his own blog in a wholesale manner.

What are my options for recourse?

    His site is a point2.

I'm sure may of you have been in this boat. Any help is greatly appreciated.

DMCA to point2 is definitely an option, but I would contact this person first and let them know that what they have done is completely inappropriate and in fact illegal, and if not removed you will be forced to pursue avenues to collect damages for intellectual property theft. This is preferential as it usually gets things handled without lawyers or DMCA's and often times teaches the person a valuable lesson regarding content theft

it shocks me that some people have no shame in doing this..
luckily for you REW is a high PR site; chances are, that post would have been indexed already, in which case this guy will suffer the dup penalty..

Digital Millennium Copyright Act and a duplicate content penalty refers to duplicated content on your own site, not the same content on two different sites.

The following article is the most comprehensive resource I've found to follow when dealing with content scrapers: What do you do when someone steals your content?

Thanks Lydia, that's an awesome resource.

My next question was going to be "how do I find out if other articles have been copied?"

But I see she covers that. Copyscape is key.

Does anyone know off hand if this is a Realtor Code of Ethics violation?

    Taking content happens quite often.

A quick way to do this is to use Google - Grab a sentence from the content and google it with Quotes.
