Exactly. You submit articles to gain links. Now, if they reprinted it and stripped your link and author information out, that would be a different story.

Here read the ezine articles terms of use. These are same on most article sites http://ezinearticles.com/terms-of-service.html

The reason we write articles is to get backlinks.

Just a question offshoot of this. If you are running contentlinks and google indexes your pages, do the contentlinks count as one way links or do they not get indexed?

Yes...articles are meant to be routed around the web as long as you are getting the proper credit for your work...other than that...good work

Which is part of the whole point - you WANT people to syndicate your articles to their websites so that it builds viral one way links to your website.
But isn't it true that not all inbound links are viewed as credible by the search engines? I also have numerous inbound links from sites that are obviously nothing more than AdWord laden sites that list snippets of other people's blog content. Yes, there is a link back, but is that link really helping me as much as a link from a true content based real estate website?

I think this just happened to me also. federwrsgxlDOTblogspotDOTcom/2008/05/purchase-that-kid-house.html

It does not look like the links are in tact (at least what I could see). It also has the spam links inserted into the article.
