Maybe you are not obtimizing your post right. I wrote this in may http://activerain.com/blogsview/1223...ore-leads-Free
It still ranks top 3 in google for "free recorded message for realtors" and "pre recorded message for realtors". When you make a post you have to put the same keyword in the tag. There is a no follow tag on the tag cloud on the right unless you put it in the same tage more than 5 times. Thats probbably why they are not ranking.
So I always use the first tag as Bellingham real estate, then the others that I want even know they may not even be about bellingham real estate. I just want the search engine to know that post is there. If you do this incorectly they will only stay up for a few days. and bounch around.
This is the code for the tag cloud:
<li><a rel="tag" href="/blogs/ericb/tags/bellingham%20real%20estate">bellingham real estate (55)</a></li>
<li><a rel="tag" rel="nofollow" href="/blogs/ericb/tags/bellingham%20real%20estate%20agent">bellingham real estate agent (2)</a></li>
<li><a rel="tag" rel="nofollow" href="/blogs/ericb/tags/bellingham%20realtor">bellingham realtor (2)</a></li>
<li><a rel="tag" rel="nofollow" href="/blogs/ericb/tags/birch%20bay%20real%20estate">birch bay real estate (2)</a></li>
<li><a rel="tag" rel="nofollow" href="/blogs/ericb/tags/birchwood%20bellingham">birchwood bellingham (2)</a></li>
Notice the one with bellingham real estate doesnt have a "nofollow" thats becuase I have used that tag more than 5 times. See the numbers to the right (55) or (2). Now notice the ones that have the no follow they have only been posted twice with that tag.
Now look what happens to the bellingham real estate http://activerain.com/blogs/ericb/ta...0real%20estate tag cloud. Notice the pre recoreded message post, they get funneled onto on page. The spyders are able to crawl this page thats what keeps you up in the search. Put the other clouds not get followed by the spyder.

Serving all your Outer Banks real estate needs and if you are looking for a deal then search all Outer Banks foreclosures for bank owned real estate.
Hey Eric!
Now that you bring it up, I have lots of questions about those tags in Active Rain. For a while, we were actively adding tags to our posts-- but then we started having duplicate content issues on a completely different blog (a blogger blog) because the labels in blogger make identical pages of content, with unique urls. If you have 5 labels in blogger, you have 5 6 (or 7) versions of the same content.
When we decided to remove the Labels/tags from blogger, we went ahead and removed them from Active Rain from all our posts, too (just because we were afraid that the same thing might be occurring).
So-- can you explain how tags work in Active Rain in more detail?
If I write a post about "Apartment Complex Changes Ownership in Gainesville", and I title the post "Apartment Complex Changes Ownership in Gainesville", are you saying that I should tag the post "Apartment Complex Changes Ownership in Gainesville"?

Can you explain this in more detail? What do you mean by "There is a no follow on the tag cloud on the right unless you put it in the same tag more than 5 times"? What is the "it"? Unless we put what in the same tag more than 5 times?
I'd love the help!Thanks!
