#1 in msn

I am #1 in msn for bellingham real estate and bellingham wa real estate. On the other hand I am in the first second page in google for the terms. I suspect that msn likes a lot of fresh content. Maybe thats why I am out ranking all others I am not shure.

I have figured out google to a tee, I can write new pages and have them rank in a few days. but not shure why I am ranking so well in msn, not complainig at all. I just want to know. Maybe its rews seo friendly design I dunno. What would you guys say the major factors are in ranking well in msn.

I think you are right on with your thought that fresh content is a driving force with ranking well in MSN. I think MSN also looks at links in anchor text relevant to you key search phases. I have found that it is easier to rank quickly in MSN than any of the other major search engines.

You are dead on with your assumptions. MSN seems to like clean design & fresh content. It's great you're ranking well there, but don't chase MSN rankings, IMO. Ranking page 2 for a term in Google will usually get you the same traffic as a top 5 ranking in MSN. Top 5 in Google gets you incredible traffic.

I'll take any traffic from either search engine I can get. MSN does like fresher content and lots of links. How are you doing on Yahoo?

I'm not dogging the #1 ranking in MSN - that's great. My point is that it's much more effective to go after Google rankings. Top 5 in Google will get you much more traffic than top 5 in Yahoo & MSN combined.

I've had the same experience -- my REW site ranks page 1 on MSN but not very well on Google yet. I've also noticed that local competitors who were nowhere to be found jumped to page 1 on MSN after their sites were redone. Yah, msn must love fresh content + rew design.

Thanks, I am first page in google I think #6 but I was just curios, as I said in my post. I don't get much traffic from it but it is nice to know since I havn't really done anything that I know of to get there excepty hire REW to handle my SEO.

msn like lots of unique content...my guess is that msn checks the dates of last update on the pages

what are you ratios from the traffic you are getting. google rank 6 how much more traffic are you getting than msn rank #1? i just want to know so i can know how to target my site.
