Default Google Webmaster Tools and Crawling Issue

I went live with my REW website on the 22nd of August. G continues to crawl my website on a daily basis (as viewed by other trackers), but so far hasn't updated on the webmaster tools section. Anybody seen this before?

    >>Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Aug 21, 2007.<<

The only thing I can think of is that I transferred my unique ID meta tag to the new website and somehow google is expecting to see the old website and host as opposed to the new site and host. It shows me as verified, though.

From what I see, the information is not always accurate nor does it jive with a cached date sometimes. I have seen new pages on my site cached, then show up later in W. T.'s with a completly different date. It's more of a rough guide...Same with my homepage, often times the cached date is different (newer) than when they show.

The data in Webmaster's Tools is ages old. Most of it only updates about once a month, and each section occurs at a different time. For example, the links may be updated one day, and the crawl data two weeks later. Don't check it daily, it's just not worth it. Once or twice a month is plenty.

Bookmark the site: command for your site, like this:
    Google site command

That'll tell you how many pages you have indexed and when they were cached in Google. I usually check about once a week, just to make sure everything's up to snuff.

By the way, your 'about us' page is hilarious. The whole site is very nice!

I think it only updates once a week or so I have notice that. I have even put my url in a blog in Active Rain. the post gets indexed in a hour or so. But you would think if it is getting crawled it would crawl my sight to since the link is in the post. And that doesn't make it show in webtools eigher

Thanks all. Its just that prior to REW it showed up as successfully accessed about every three days. The 21st is the last crawl prior to the cut-over. Like I said, I can see that my site is being crawled and indexed just that particular line is bugging me.

Lydia, I check it WAAAY too often. The addiction will subside over time. Thanks for the site review, BTW, I have been meaning to post it for a murder board on this forum. I had a friend tell me to scrap the "about us" section and redo it from scratch. I think he felt it was not professional enough.

Since we started out as a foreclosure company I couldn't write about the real version of the sign. It was going to be two sided. The one facing the road was "Another home for sale Buyhawkeye.com." The one facing the house was "You have just been screwed Buyhawkeye.com" We laughed and laughed and then sobered up...
