Default Getting the hook up on REO's

Does anyone know any training or how to list REO's? With all these foreclosures I want to get in on the action.

There is only one "certified" BPO Training program that I know of, and it is done once a year at the convention in Dallas by DSNews. They don't do the training, it's just done in conjunction with the convention. The first time it was offered was last year and this years convention just happened or is about to (can't remember the dates). Other than that, you need to fill out an application with everyone (that pays) and wait. It may be a year down the road before they call you, it may be right away.

Be very careful of the companies that don't pay! They are out there and will take advantage of you in a heart beat. Disregard any company that says they don't pay for the BPO, but you will have first shot at the listing. If they really listed with the agents they used, then they wouldn't need to be calling you off of a web search or randomly calling your brokers office.

I have the hook up. If you'll work with 50-50 split on all buyers brought who close, then let me know.

Are listing REO's even worth it? I have some friends who say it is nothing but a nightmare. I know that dealing with banks from the buyer's side can very frustrating.

Depends on the company you are working with. I have fired OCWEN and LandAmerica as REO listings. I still do an occasional BPO for LandAmerica, but I will not take any more of their listings (nightmare like you said).

Other companies are wonderful to work for. Countrywide if you can get on with them and so on.
