This just brings back nightmares of programming, one reason I got out of the computer world, but i just don't want / have the money to spend on somebody else doing the page.

It's easy, but something changed, and I don't know what it caused to crash.

I had it set up where you could search by price range, subdiv, and street

    Now i have nothing

I am putting together several free tools for real estate sites that will be able to be downloaded from my web site. From the discussion here I realize that an integrated IDX may be beyond the resources of many real estate sites. I also believe that having the MLS on your web site is important. Would a howto on how to set up an MLS within an iframe be helpful?

Another project I am working on is free css/xhtml web site templates.

Suggestions for these and other tools are welcome.

$600 a year is a pretty sweet deal...that is exactly what I am paying just to access the data

I also pay $600 a year just for the link to the data that I can frame into my site. That's for the VOW which requires registration (required by the MLS). If I want to offer IDX, too, that does not require registration (but offers a lot less listings) I have to pay an additional $300 annually.
Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.

As an old song says, "Good work if you can get it!"

Isn't it sweet that the data is supplied by the brokers who then have to pay to get it back. I remember reading an anology that vow is like someone putting up a toll gate for you to get to your own house.

Judyo, Do you pay the local MLS service for the iframe deal? Or is that with an outside company?

    Thanks

I used to use the VOW directly from my MLS but just switched to PMPVow which is half the price. I believe they just service Northern Illinois but you might want to double check.
