    Default Video?

Hi all, been reading the forum for quite some time, but now i'm wanting to post a bit more.

Anyways, I have a website with decent traffic, organic + PPC on the major search engines. I've managed to get a 1st page, and in many cases #1-#4 for organic search.

Anyways, i'm wanting to do a video-esque presentation on my main entrance page, the avg view time for my website is only about 1.5 minutes. Most of the people viewing my website are on broadband, so a short 30-45sec video i think may be worth my time.

Craig proctor's students have a pretty decent video on their websites. The biggest thing is the background for the video is transparent. I don't do alot of video shooting, outside of youtube video virtual tours of my listings. Any ideas how to create a good presentation on my website?

    Thanks!

I am not a big fan of video or music on the home pages of real estate sites. I would be curious to know if your visitors remained on the site longer after you institute your video.

I took a look and would make a suggestion or 2. Increase you font size. it appeared a bit small for me, but then again I am gettin old. Also, I find it easier to read arial.

Actually, i just changed it about 1 minute ago. I also changed around the index page and cleaned it up a bit, less info, more goodies.

I beg to differ. If your video doesn't not provide any relevant information to the end user and only is intended as an entertainment medium, chances are the average time a visitor spends on your site may decrease. It doesn't matter if they are on broadband or dialup; people aren't interested in having to sit through a video that doesn't help them with what they are looking for.

This is not always the case though. My recommendation would be to make your video, but at least make sure you have a link that allows them to skip the video and go directly to your site. There is nothing worse than going to a site and being force fed a video just to get to the site's main content.

I think Sellers would be more interested in a Video of the prospective Realtor, because it gives them a chance to view the Personality who will try and Sale their Home, whereas a Buyer is more interested in the Product for sale: Homes vs. the Personality of whom they too often perceive as the "Salesman" trying to take control and step inbetween them and the ADDRESS so they can drive by and then if interested call the Listing Agent on the yard sign (not you the Buyer's Agent). Too often Realtors see more value in the Buyer's Agent than the Prospect. The Key is a Very Strong Buyer's USP to give Value in remembering "who brought 'em to the dance", and to call you...not the Listing Agent. Great SEO/PPC positioning gets you in their face, but (kinda like Ghost Busters) : "Who you gunna call?" The Craig Proctor Group is Strong on Buyer USP's and Phone Follow-up. So a Good Quality Buyer Targeted Video "can" work if you focus the air time on the USP, not so much "U".
