Default HOT DAM! A New Google Webmasters

    So... what's everybody think?

If you haven't already done so, go check out the new (and greatly improved) Google Webmasters, which is now displaying % of top search queries and clicks.

Now you REALLY know how much more traffic a term is worth, relative to another!

    Thank you Google!!

Yeah - it's pretty impressive...I've always just used the links feature, so I didn't even realize it was a new feature, I just thought I hadn't noticed the new features before!

Wow! That is nice. Now, I have a question on understanding the data.

The table on the right is straight forward based on clicks to you. The table on the left is a little confusing. I have alway thought the order is based on the frequency that keyword is used by persons searching in Google.

What would the % tell me? Is it that of all the keywords that my site appears, this is the percentage of the times it was typed by someone using Google?

Do you think I am reading it right?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
The table on the left shows you the top 20 searches where your listing was displayed. The percentage shows you the distribution of how many times your listing was displayed between those 20 search queries.

To clarify, using PPC language, you may think of the table on the left (Top search queries) as "impressions" and the table on the right (Top clicked queries) as "click-throughs."

I can answer this for you:

What Google is reporting is the top 20 terms that are bringing you traffic (Clicks) from Google - out of these top 20, it reports (Based on percentage) how "much" traffic each term represents (Out of your top 20) - This is for the one on the right.

On the left is the same calculation except it is based not on clicks, rather on "impressions" meaning total volume of searches (That may or may have brought you clicks)
