Default What does your MLS charge for photos.

Here in Northern Virginia our MLS system (MRIS) is going to offer up to 30 free photos per listing in the near future. In the past we only got 1 exterior photo and had an option to pay for $12 for 6 photos or $20 for 20 photos . Just curious what other MLS systems have been charging agents for photo uploading if any.

MRIS is pleased to announce a new photo upload product, Keystone Photo Upload. Effective Sunday, October 28, 2007, Keystone Photo Upload will replace Upshot. With Upshot, there was a fee for photo uploads - Using Keystone Photo Upload, there will be no fee - it is now a benefit included with your MRIS account.

Keystone Photo Upload includes all of these features:

    * Every feature Upshot included and more.
    * Upload up to 30 FREE photos.
    * Set a custom sort order.
    * Add a custom caption and description for each photo.
    * Is accompanied by a new MRIS slideshow, which will do the following:
o Display custom sort order as set by the listing agent
o Display custom caption and description as entered by the agent
o Display in three different sizes, which can be set by the viewer
o Display in three different speeds, which can be set by the viewer
o Display in Matrix, Active Agent, Lingo, Bridge

We get up to 25 photos for "free" even though we pay annual and quarterly fees, making the MLS a very expensive, yet crappy, piece of software.

In Austin it is 8 photos for "free", and if you don't have at least one photo you get a fine from the MLS!!

With RMLS we were allowed 8 and recently went to 16 photos available. No extra charges beyond standard MLS fees. We are required to have at least 1 photo and the first photo or only photo which ever it may be must be of the front of the home. There are always a few that don't follow rules very well.

We have ours contracted out to Obeo, a good virtual tour company for $35. You can contract with then for more obviously. This is in the SF bay area.

socal mls. 25 photos. no extra cost. Supposedly there is a fine if you don't have a photo. But i see some listings that are 6 months old without photos.
