Default Thoughts on Google Algorithm Change

I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on Googles so called "Black Wednesday" back in October where sites dropped in PageRank. Could this be just the beginning of Googles crack down on sites that have irrelevant links or maybe something else?

I'm not sure what it it's all about, buy I dropped from PR3 to PR2, but the SERPs stayed the same.

I doubt the SERPS will stay that way though. The PR drop was only the opening round. I suspect penalties will follow.

Whether it's a 'sandbox' effect, a limit to no higher than a 5th spot ranking for top keywords, or the dreaded '930' penalty, it sure seems likely that they will go farther than a little green bar.

My PR went from a 1 to a 3. (all 2's on secondary pages!)

My Serps for _____ Real Estate just recently (in last week) went from 30ish to 85 for a day or two, then jumped back up to 18-19 range.

Keep up the good work REW, and thanks!

Well, what do you expect us to think? Google is changing their algo, we are changing our optimization techniques. nothing else to think of.

I don't want to jinx myself but I too jumped in PR from 0 to 3 (2's on my interior pages) on that day. I haven't seen any changes in the SERPS yet but I'm hoping for a jump in the near future.

my PR is up, serps climbing. G is changing things, so you have to improve your site to stay on top.

My PR went down. I'm still #1 for main keyword and I'm moving up the ladder for other targeted keywords.

I think the PR change isn't going to make a big impact on rankings.
