Thread: Have You Seen Ever.com?

  1. Default Have You Seen Ever.com?

    Has anyone seen Squidoo's ever.com?

Squidoo purchased www.ever.com recently and has set up a template whereby lensmasters can create the best, fastest, funniest, etc., ever.com lens. What's cool about this, is Squidoo has taken steps to deter spam lenses at ever.com by allowing a max of 2 lenses per day, and after 30 days the lens receives a review. If the lens does not pass muster, the lens is rejected. So, ever.com has potential for being a great source of traffic and otherwise quality inbound links.

I created a community real estate website page of sorts for forum members here titled, best-real-estate-websites-ever. I've included a plexo whereby any of you can add their website(s). You can even vote for the best website! When doing so, be sure to add your anchor text and a small description, as well. Who knows, you may receive a lead from it. Check it out. Also, check out www.ever.com as well.

On a related note, I've seen real estate agents creating lenses at Squidoo and they tend to be all the same. Typically, I see the same old churned out lenses coming from agents like "<city> <state> real estate." You may or may not receive traffic this way, however, I would encourage folks to create lenses in the same way we blog around here. Take a subject that will rank, then create a page about it. With the holidays looming ahead of us, the season is ripe with content ideas. For instance, during the holidays your potential clients will be searching for movies, plays, Christmas trees, toys, symphonies, etc. Why not create lenses on these topics. These long tails will rank and you will gain exposure as the source of information.

I've had good results with this method. For instance, when searchers query the 'tri cities visitors and convention bureau' they get this. A long tail ranked 4th in Google! I've got scores of lenses like this one. Another one is richland recycling. #2 in Google and a relevant source of traffic and Richland links to our website.

Anyway, enough said. Consider creating some holiday lenses, as well as adding your website to the best-real-estate-websites-ever.

Good job Joe. I blurbed and rated you 5 stars but can't figure out how to correctly add an anchor text link with description to the plexico? Could you give this poor dummy an idea of how to do it.

Your other suggestions are well taken too. Now, if I could just find a way to clone myself in order to keep up with everything that needs to be addressed, I'd have it made.

Actually, it' mainly Colleen on this one. Regarding the plexo, there is an "Add to this list" button, and when clicked a box appears. You simply add the url(s) and then click "done adding" and you will then be given the option of adding anchor text and a description. Often times the anchor text and description is pulled from your meta tags.

If you prefer, simply post the url and anchor here and I will do it for you.

    BTW, thanks for the rating!

Hey Joe, thanks for including me in that lens. I've never really explored Squidoo but I can certainly see the traffic value. You and your wife make an amazing team!

Well, Duh. I kept trying to put all the info in the first box you see.

Also, just showed your "ever page" to Terry and she immediately came up with about 4 or 5 great suggestions. So, I'm off to try and get them initially set up, before someone else jumps on the bandwagon.

Thanks for your help and the heads up on what looks to be another great idea.

    You are welcome!

BTW, the "best-dallas-real-estate-broker-ever" or "best-dallas-broker-ever" has not been taken at ever.com!

Great work Colleen & Joe, I checked out your ever.com lens and added to it. I will have to check into creating one sometime in the near future.
