I'm not sure about the robots.txt file, but Terry created her first Squidoo/Ever page on Florida's Best Beaches and we went live with it on Thursday the 22nd. It was cached and indexed on the 23rd.

Good job! Out of curiosity I checked Google for the best florida beaches and found your lens on page 1 of Google.

I wonder if Google is coming down on static pages in their index, as I've seen several lenses being dropped by Google. Just the other day I had a lens on a local economic development council get dropped. I updated it and it's back! The lens is TRIDEC, and it is back on page 1 here!

There seems to be something really squirrelly going on with Squidoo's Ever pages. I've been trying to do some tracking of things since the caching issues came up in this thread and every time I think I understand what might be happening, something changes again.

For the last few days, both Joe's page and the two I have put up keep popping in and out of being cached in the 43 DC's I can query using the cache date tool checker at http:// oy-oy.eu/google/pages/ Like a lot of checking tools lately, when you use them, sometimes Google blocks the information. When it does work, I have seen both our pages be in as many as 39/43 DC's and as few as 34/43 DC's, but never all 43.

Then today, I logged into Squidoo and noticed the URL's for my two pages had changed in my dashboard. Originally, Squidoo showed my page URL's just like they did Joe's i.e. http:// www .squidoo.com/best-florida-beaches-ever/ Today they show at my Squidoo dashboard as just http:// best-florida-beaches-ever/

When I query the original URL, it is not cached anymore and when I query the new one, only 14/43 DC's show a cache date and the rest are blocked.

So, I'm wondering if there is a bug at Squidoo with their URL's?

I'm not sure what is going on at Squidoo. I do know they are experiencing growing pains.

As far as the url thing, right now Squidoo is publishing two urls when creating a lens on the ever.com domain. For instance, my http://www.squidoo.com/best-real-estate-websites-ever/ is also http://best.real-estate-websites.ever.com/ Not sure why they are doing this.
