    Default Ever missed an appointment

I was talking to a friend last week that forgot about an appointment. They mixed up the days and didn't realize until 3 hours later. They called the client and profusely apoligized. The client was actually pretty understanding and to their surprise is still working with them. Anyway they still feel really bad about it and think they are the only person ever to forget an appointment.

I told them to not let it bother them so much. So my two questions are have any of you ever forget about an appointment? And second what do you do to make sure you remember everything you are supposed to do each week.

For me personally I have not been too busy recently with the market being slower. But I still would like to have a better system than the notepad I currently use. Because when the market heats back up I could see myself making a similar mistake.

I am a visual person...still have a separate calendar that I write in and keep post its, listing sheets, etc. I live by that calendar...write down the appointments. If you have a blackberry or trio it would be he same. Each night I take some time to review my agenda for the next day.

I have not missed an appointment yet. I hope I never do. However, we are all human and will make mistakes.

I miss one or two each summer.
My summers are insanely hectic. Three groups of clients a day is not uncommon. That's 20 groups a week, 80 groups a month.....
I'm not proud of this fact but it happens... Hopefully they were the ones who were not very serious about making a purchase.

    Lets change up the question,

Do your clients ever miss an appointment?
Yes, one or two a week. Grrrr and nothing makes me more upset!!!

I have occasionally missed an appointment over the years, not since I use Outlook with business contact manager for my contact manager. But I get stood up a lot. The thing that is ridiculous is these obviously bogus excuses people make. If you forget, say "I forgot", not "I got stuck in traffic", or "I had a flat tire and my cell phone was dead." I confirm before I head out and people still stand me up. Rentals are the worst.

I will have to check out outlook. That sounds like a good tool for appointments. So I had a unit for rent last year. I set up 3 appointments at roughly the same time (all within about 20 minutes of each other). To my amazement no one showed up. I called all 3 and got different excuses.

I missed a listing presentation once, past buyers, very unforgiving. One of the side effects of being busy.

I have missed a couple and have had many clients miss their appointments. I use both outlook and a good old weekly calendar to keep me on track.
