I thought I'd share my happiness. After a great deal of work and effort on my primary site, I finally overtook the #1 spot on Google for the organic search phrase "City State Real Estate". It may be temporary or may stick, either way I'm happy and moving in the right direction.

Now if i can improve my conversion I'll be jumping up and down and probably have a heart attack.

Can you share, in % terms, the difference in traffic between placement #5 or #6 vs the #1 spot for that keyword? I've always wondered but have no experience to draw from.

I had the site originally designed and put online with 5 pages in 2000, it barely showed up anywhere. It wasn't touched until December 2005 when I started learning to do it myself, much of it here at REW.

Lydia - I hope to be able to answer that in time, right now I don't know. What I have figured out is that #1 on Yahoo is approximately equal to #3 on Google.

Well I sure hope you stay there Lewi! Right now I'm #7 on Yahoo and #5 & #6 on Google (I show up twice there) for Augusta GA Real Estate.
